A crack does not automatically disqualify a slab from concrete lifting. The important questions are whether the pieces remain strong enough to move and whether the expected result will be safe and useful.
Lifting cracked slabs
Technicians may be able to move cracked sections together or independently depending on the crack pattern. Some stress cracking is possible during any lift, especially with thin or unusually large slabs, so realistic expectations matter.
Stamped and colored concrete
Decorative concrete can also be lifted. The lifting principle is the same, but hole placement and patch coloring deserve extra care. Holes can be positioned within the pattern where patches are easier to camouflage, and patch material may be tinted toward the surrounding color.
Inspection comes first
Concrete that is extensively crumbling or structurally weak may need replacement. An on-site evaluation is the best way to determine whether lifting can preserve the slab.
