Choose mudjacking when the slab is reusable
Mudjacking—also called slabjacking or slurry concrete lifting—uses hydraulic pressure and fill material beneath the slab to move existing concrete. It avoids demolition, haul-away and the curing time required by a new pour. It also keeps the original concrete color, which can look more consistent than one bright new section.
Choose replacement when the concrete has failed
Replacement is generally more appropriate when concrete is badly deteriorated, heavily spalled, crumbling or divided into fragments that cannot move together safely. Lifting changes position; it does not turn weak concrete into new concrete.
